I have been doing internship in my current corporate for past 8 months and it has been a energetic and fulfilling time. In the past 8 months, I have truly gotten the taste of working in a corporate firm along with learning invaluable skills like working in a team, networking, learning on the job, importance of communication and importance of technical skills. It also would be insensitive on my part to not mention the importance of joining a good team with like minded individuals who are working with you helping you navigate along with working on a shared goal. As a new employee, I also learned the importance of having healthy ongoing communication where you work in harmony and you create an environment where your coworkers like to work with you and think about each other’s growth, not just themselves!
My role majorly involves use of skills like coding in R, use of Excel for analysis and reading large amounts of data. Having good data analysis and data science skills is important to be able to think on your feet and make adjustments in your business. Apart from the skills it is also important to have courage to learn and take up new tasks and also to learn on the spot and be open to seek help or to help others as well. It is also important to be master of the job you are doing so that there is a sense of reliability and importance for you in your team.
Overall, I can say that as months have passed, I have learned a lot and also have managed to digest my limitations in many areas while contnously trying to improve it. I can say confidently that I am looking forward to my upcoming roles and responsibilities in the team and can’t wait to keep working more and more and to contributing to the team.
