My whole team was in office yesterday (i.e., two people 🙂 ). There were some discussions around the work we have been doing on assigning ratings and how we can make it more robust before presenting to others. Mostly it was about reliability of data, expanding the dataset and making it independent of entities to be assigned rating. There were some techniques being mentioned like out of sample testing as well. I am liking the work assigned to me and also the team is nice. I was explaining the method of assigning the ratings to my manager and I found some ways while explaining using tools which can make the flow better. I will try them out. I also went for a game of table tennis with A.M. later.
Besides office I had a good chat with my brother yesterday and he was talking about his electives. It was his last day for Add/Drop facility so he was also preoccupied with it.
Also I have joined a new competition on Kaggle called the “Backpack Sales Prediction” which is about using regression to estimate the sales price of bag pack given some features. It is a good starting point I think. Also I will mostly be using R I will learn that as well along with cross-validation. That’s all for now, Thanks!
